1. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how Sakai System and Consulting LLC. (“we”) handles information in connection with this website, www.sakai-sc.com.

Our applications are covered by their own privacy policies, because each app handles data differently. Please see the privacy policy for the app you are using: txt-maker, mini-sheets, Play Your Music or clip-stack.

2. Information we collect on this website

This website has no user accounts and no login. There are two ways information reaches us.

2.1 The contact form

If you write to us through our contact form, we receive the email address and the message you enter. Those details are forwarded to us by email and are not stored in a database on this website. We use them only to read and answer your enquiry, and we keep the resulting correspondence in our mailbox for as long as we may need it to handle your request and any follow-up.

Please do not send passwords, payment card details or other sensitive information through the form.

2.2 Usage measurement

We measure how the site is used with Google Analytics 4, and only where that measurement is permitted as described in section 4. It consists of:

• pages viewed on this site, and the referring page or search that brought you here
• an approximate location (country and region) derived from your IP address
• device and browser type, screen size and language setting
• a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie, used to recognise repeat visits

We use this to understand which apps and pages people find useful and which languages to prioritise. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine this data with any other source.

3. Cookies and local storage

We set no advertising cookies and run no advertising on this site.

4. Consent, and how to change your choice

We use Google Consent Mode. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied by default: no analytics cookies are set and no measurement is sent until you choose to accept it using the banner shown on your first visit. Advertising storage is denied for all visitors at all times.

For visitors outside those regions, analytics is enabled by default, and you can turn it off at any time with the button below.

Clearing your browser’s cookies and site data for this site also erases both the analytics cookies and our record of your choice.

5. Who else receives the data

Website usage data is processed on our behalf by Google (Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the EEA, Google LLC elsewhere) as the provider of Google Analytics. This may involve transferring data to, and storing it on, servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and, on some pages, stylesheets and images from our Japanese site www.sakai-sc.co.jp. Requesting those files transmits your IP address to the server that serves them.

6. Legal basis for processing

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies:

• Analytics — your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give through the banner and can withdraw at any time as described in section 4. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
• Contact form — our legitimate interest in reading and answering messages addressed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or the steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract where your message is a business enquiry (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The session cookie that makes the form work is strictly necessary and therefore does not require consent.

7. How long we keep it

Analytics data is held in Google Analytics for the retention period configured in our property, after which Google deletes it. Messages sent through the contact form stay in our mailbox for as long as we may need them to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and are deleted when that is no longer the case. Your cookie choice remains in your own browser until you clear it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

For messages sent through the contact form, we hold your email address and can act on such a request directly. For analytics, we never identify visitors individually, so we may be unable to link that data to you as a person; there, the most effective way to exercise your rights is to withdraw consent and clear your site data. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 11 and we will respond as required by applicable law.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children through it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the date shown at the top.
